Outstanding Program Contest Information
2005 Program Contest form
It is the goal of this
committee to make available to the membership updated, informative and interesting
programs. If your chapter has an outstanding program which was created and
developed by a member and you believe will be of interest to all members,
please send to the Virginia Program
Chairman. All copyrighted materials must be accompanied with permission
use. Programs cannot exceed 20 minutes. Deadline for submission is
January 5, 2005. Two outstanding programs will be sent to the National
Program Chairman for review and consideration for inclusion in the national
Program catalogue.
Manuscripts should be between seven and fifteen pages in length. All text
must be typed double spaced on plain white bond paper with one (1) inch margins.
Color slide programs with 35 mm color slides and a brief script for each slide
can be submitted. Cassette tape (4" x 2 ½") may be used for
recording. When recording, voice must be clear and easily understood.
When sending material for program reviewing, include entire speech, play,
video, or cassette tape. Do not send photos, newspaper clippings, notebooks
etc. These items cannot be considered in program selection. Programs submitted
cannot be returned.
Program orders: The Program Catalogue, last revised in 1999, is available
through the DAR Store at a cost of $5. There is no rental charge for programs
listed in the Program Catalogue. When ordering programs, please send your
check directly to the Program Office in the amount of $5, payable to the Treasurer
General, to cover shipping costs.
There will be no critique of the Yearbook/Supplement. They need to be user
friendly for the members and cost effective for the chapter. It is not necessary
to include information about spouses or patriot's ancestors. Chapters may
make other changes as they deem appropriate.
Help us to help you. Programs attract
new members and stimulate interest in our current membership.
