Listed below are the scholarships awarded by the Virginia DAR. No affiliation with the State or National Societies is necessary to qualify for these scholarships. DAR members' children are also eligible to apply.
 

American History Scholarship

The $1,000 VADAR scholarship ($500 for second place) is awarded to a graduating high school senior who will pursue an undergraduate degree with a concentrated study of a minimum of 24 credit hours in American History and/or American Government. The winners MUST attend a Virginia college or university.

There are two $1,000 scholarship ($500 for second place) are awarded to high school seniors who plan to major in any field other than nursing. The winners MUST attend a Virginia college or university.

Virginia Nursing Scholarship

This $1,000 scholarship ($500 for second place) is awarded to a high school senior who will continue her/his education at an accredited Virginia school of nursing.

Virginia DAR Scholarship Financial Need Form

A Fact Sheet, as well as Application and Financial Need forms are available from local DAR chapters, high school guidance counselors, or the State Scholarship Chairman. All scholarship applications must be received by the State Scholarship Chairman no later than February 1st.
