Welcome to the website of the Anna Maria Fitzhugh Chapter NSDAR! Our chapter was organized in Springfield, Virginia, on April 19, 1982, by Lois Wogstad. The homes of most of the organizing members were located on land which was originally part of the Ravensworth estate once owned by the prominent Fitzhugh family. Our chapter’s namesake, Anna Maria Fitzhugh, owned the Ravensworth estate from 1830 until 1874. The chapter meets monthly in the Springfield area.
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 with the threefold mission of supporting historic preservation, promoting education, and encouraging patriotism. Anna Maria Fitzhugh Chapter NSDAR works to support the continuing fulfillment of these important goals.
