George Mason Chapter

Chapter Services

Some employees working in the Greenspring Community are served by a devoted group of volunteers from the George Mason DAR Chapter who help the immigrants attain their U.S. citizenship. These members teach and help the employees develop good English grammar in addition to providing civics education that is aimed at the attainment of U.S. citizenship.

Other chapter members work with Fairfax County elementary educators to encourage presentation of DAR Good Citizenship Medals at the end of the scholastic year.

Veterans are honored and thanked by members ‘for serving’ when we meet veterans here at Greenspring or elsewhere in the neighboring community. In addition, George Mason members collect stamps during the year and provide sundries for collection and distribution in November to our hospitalized veterans.

Labels for Education and Campbell Soup labels are collected at various centers in the community and sent to the DAR schools. Cancelled stamps are also collected and sent to Veteran Centers in the area.
