Welcome to the Fairfax County Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution!
The Fairfax County Chapter was organized in Vienna, Virginia, on October 14, 1905, with Mary Frances Gibson as the organizing regent. Named for Fairfax County, it was the second chapter in northern Virginia, Mount Vernon being the first chapter to be 
organized. There were twelve charter members, and Anna Barber King was the first elected regent. The first meeting was held in the home of charter member Kate Strong Summy, and the chapter marked that house on October 13, 1995.
The chapter’s binding interest, in addition to patriotism and love of country, is lineage research. Our motto is “The real value of genealogy is not social pretense but moral obligation.”
